Using only sunlight and seawater we are able to grow herbs and vegetables in hot arid locations where it traditionally has not been possible before.

We use greenhouse designs from Seawater Greenhouse.

5. Fans draw the air through the
Greenhouse and into the optional
shade tent area behind the greenhouse.

This is how it works
1. Surface seawater trickles down the front wall evaporator, through which air is drawn into the Greenhouse. Dust, salt spray, pollen and insects are trapped and filtered out leaving the air pure, humidified and cool.
2. Sunlight is heating the overhead solar collectors which pre-heat the seawater going to the evaporators, it also partially shades the crops from excessive sunlight. This keeps the Greenhouse cool whilst allowing the crops to grow in high light conditions.
3. Air passes through a second seawater evaporator and is further humidified to saturation point.
4. Saturated air passes through the condenser which is cooled using cold deep seawater or cool seawater from the evaporators. Pure distilled water condenses and is piped to storage.
